![]() I guess it's an OK option, but you still going to download HUGE amount of files as it doesn't support transcoding.Ĭurrently checking the option to stream my audio files using NextCloud. It's much more of an overhead (almost like settings a VPN). You need to install an SFTP server, create a public/private key, sync between the devices, etc etc. You will have to be a bit more technical here. Not very secure, there's no encryption, better use SFTP if you have too. So basically everyone with your IP - can connect and listen to your music. The problem is, if you consuming it externally. It's awesome for when consuming content from inside your own Network. There's a cool open-source project called Jellyfin that does all that. There's couple of servers, and some of time even support Transcoding (downgrading the quality based on the Device your listening from). Will share the information, perhaps future readers can use it: So, posted it a while ago, and did some research. So when I'm home, It will stream FLAC (as the network is super fast), and while on the move - and has limited cellular bandwidth, the DLNA wlll create a temporary 320kbps mp3 file for example - and this file will get streamed to the phone. ![]() One thing that can be a plus (and I understand some DLNA servers can do that), is to lower the quality of the file for you. ![]() Anyone already have a working solution based on Neutron and perhaps share some details/experience on the best option? There's couple of ways Neutron can do that - SFTP, Webdav and DLNA (and maybe SMB too?). I created a Shared Network Folder on my Windows machine, and since the phone and the PC share the same Network, Neutron let me connect using SMB (It call it "Network"). I trying to find a way to store the Audio files on my PC, but play them on my Neutron player.Īt Home, the solution was pretty easy. I'm using Neutron as the Player (mainaly because I used the parametric EQ). I recently moved to higher quality Audio files (FLAC), and my phone storage can no longer hold my Music collection. ![]()
